Melania Trump Puts Concerned Americans at Ease by Breaking Her Silence on Surgery With Health Update

Days after undergoing kidney surgery, first lady Melania Trump broke her silence on the procedure to assure concerned Americans that she’s “feeling great.”

“A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers!” she tweeted on Wednesday evening. “I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home @WhiteHouse soon.”

The first lady underwent the surgery on Monday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Following the procedure, the White House shared the good news that it was successful.

“The procedure was successful and there were no complications. Mrs. Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and will likely remain there for the duration of the week,” the statement said. “The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere.”

President Donald Trump, who remained at the White House during the procedure but has visited his wife in the hospital on at least two occasions since, also announced that she is in “good spirits” and “doing really well.”

“Heading over to Walter Reed Medical Center to see our great First Lady, Melania. Successful procedure, she is in good spirits. Thank you to all of the well-wishers!” he tweeted on Monday.

“Our great First Lady is doing really well. Will be leaving hospital in 2 or 3 days. Thank you for so much love and support!” the president followed up on Tuesday.
