A University of Kansas investigation found that Lagerald Vick, a sophomore guard on the men’s basketball team, likely hit a female student several times in late 2015, the Kansas City Star reports.
Vick was accused of punching the girl in her arm more than once as well as kicking her in the face, according to the Kansas City Star.
After an investigation conducted by the university’s Office of Institutional Opportunity and Access, it was determined that Vick likely committed domestic violence. Vick was never charged with a crime related to the incident.
Following the investigation, “the KU office recommended Vick be put on university probation for two years,” according to the Star.
It is not known whether Vick was ever put on probation by the university or disciplined by Kansas head coach Bill Self, but Vick continues to play for the Jayhawks. The Kansas guard is averaging 24 minutes a game for the season.
Vick has only missed two games during his college career, both due to “illness” in late December of 2015 around the time of the alleged incident. At the time, Self told the media, “He’s not feeling good. He’s not 100 percent.”
